It also could be running in "safe" mode due to a bad or improperly installed chip.  That will make it run really rough.
 
Did you happen to put in a new chip as part of the engine work?  Does your scan tool communicate?  If not, check out the chip.  It is real easy to bend the pins, for instance.

I have a 92 Typhoon, I recently put an engine built by South Florida Performance in it, and I cant get it to idle. Its got most the goodies, SRP's, Eagle rods, roller rockers, Crane Cam, PP heads, etc... Ever since I first put my key in the ignition to start the new engine, the speedo pegged itself out and wont come back down from 120... It will run (albeit roughly) if I keep my foot on the gas, but thats it. Ive played with the fuel pressure, and timing, but I just cant figure it out. Is it possible to have the distributer in wrong, and still have it run? Sorry for the sporatic, confusing nature of this email, Im just frustrated and need help.
