[Syty] Hitch for a Typhoon

I had a custom Class III hitch built for the 'Clone at some pirate welding shop near Glen Burnie, Md. which cost me $450; I can pull the molars out of a sperm whale with that thing but it definitely would not fit my 'Phoon-- or yours-- 'cause the gas tank is in the way... and I removed the spare tire from the Truck anyway. (Syclones have their fuel tanx under the bed behind the driver's seat.)

I'll bet that Draw-Tite unit won't actually fit well either and would probably have trouble with a full-size bike once you cut it up enough to get it on!

What's wrong with dialing your engine down for smog tests and then crankin' it back up after you get the sticker, plaque or whatever...? That's what I always used to do in Va. and Md. Got it down to 0.0 CO and HC levels 20 times lower than when it was stock! They couldn't believe it and I was "lucky" enough to have a Highway Patrol and EPA Station Inspector present when I went through with all those great numbers. They made me test 3 times and were looking for ANYTHING to bust me on, but good homework, consummate engineering & tuning skill, and my Guardian Angel Gabe got me over the intense scrutiny.... Go thou and do likewise!

I'd publish all my tricks here but with so many enemies and sensitives looking on these daze I'd surely be turned in to the feds for some (other) trumped-up charge... and then Jim Sloan would rise to the bait and start disputing every other prescription I made... which would enflame me to retaliate and defend my field-proven claims, while The Bully Boys would rally to Sloan's automatic defense and invent all manner of imaginary offenses for me as they start their usual how-dare-you diatribe series, and the next thing ya know six more bellyachers would be denouncing ME (always only me!) and 2 would resign their subscriptions to this List forever after... and I would say: Good riddance! ...and then Brian would work on some new way to cancel my membership and then I would....

It's just not worth it, as you can see. Try a can of 44K in your gas tank and call me in the morning. Damn, did I just write all that...? Well, it's bedtime anyway. Tomorrow, I'm going to my buddy's car-lift and tear into my front differential again so I can (re)install a C-clip on the right axle to keep it INSIDE the side-gear and restore my AWD....

Subject: [Syty] Hitch for a Typhoon

I'm looking to buy a hitch for my '92 Typhoon.
I won't be towing anything, but will be using
the hitch to lug around my bikes.

I know there is a hitch for the Syclone (#24559 - draw-tite) -
will that work on our TYs?

Also, I'd like to get my Ty back on the road. Currently,
I'm not driving it because of the hassle of smogging it.
Is there any Smog friendly smog shops around the bay area?
I'm high on HC - cat is out due to oil from startup coating
the cat surface... I had a hassle two years ago when I had
to turn my fuel pressure to 9-15 PSI just to smog it.. don't
really want to do that again...
