I will agree with Daron on this.  Back in the old days when I had one of the original 10-1 chips by Todd A. this is exactly what happened.  Cold winter day and engine stumbled and cut out a number of times.  Put back original chip (which I always leave in the truck)and all was OK.  

By the way how old is your 10-1 chip?  Is it the pin wheel type?  Have not seen one for a long time.
