Moreover, after chopping a HOLE in the hood (for exhausting & pressure reduction while driving... no more hood bouncing up and down either!), thereby <STRONG>dramatically reducing underhood temperatures</STRONG>, I reinstalled the MSD and Voila! No more problems... unless I run the A/C in gridlock... meaning it's probably best to mount that MSD box <EM>inside the cab</EM>... somewhere away from the ECM.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face="Palatino Linotype" color=#000080 size=4>I'm afraid you wasted a bit of change with those weasels at MSD since their unit's heat-sensitivity problem results from their use of <EM>cheesy</EM> parts and bad heat-sink design... all that crummy potting material! In most cases, the defective circuitry exhibits only transient, recoverable misbehavior. Best way to restart when hot: either bypass the MSD at the Coil (I use Jacobs' <U><EM>Ultra-Coil</EM></U>) or lift the hood for 5 minutes or so... or try an icebag on the MSD box.</FONT></DIV>
